Dele Momodu: 2027: Only Atiku is competitive enough to remove Tinubu; opposition is not ready.

African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and veteran journalist, Dele Momodu, has expressed skepticism about the opposition’s readiness to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Momodu attributed the opposition’s weakness to their failure to unite and agree on a common strategy for unseating Tinubu. Writing on Facebook, he insisted that the opposition is not prepared for the 2027 contest, which is “barely one year away.”
He stated that the only opposition leader who appears to understand the necessary level of competitiveness, meticulously and practically pursuing his goal, is former Vice President Atiku Abubakar (GCON), who will be making his seventh attempt at the presidency.
Momodu cautioned that winning against a “ruthless competitor” requires more than just social media appeal. It would require a stupendous war chest (implying significant funding, with some gambling involved), extensive and nationwide structures, religious balancing, and overwhelming support from ethnic groups.
He concluded by saying that, in his opinion, many opposition figures “are just not ready,” suggesting they have either abandoned their presidential ambitions or are indifferent to Tinubu’s continued governance.
