Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the representative for Kano State’s Doguwa/Tudun Wada federal constituency, has denounced alleged ongoing attacks on All Progressives Congress (APC) members in his district.
The lawmaker is requesting that security services look into the reported assaults on his party members. This came after the most recent attack on a group of people in Tudun Wada, which left numerous people reportedly hurt.
On Thursday, August 28, thugs reportedly attacked the nearby factory Tasarrufi General Enterprise, seriously injuring the workers. Doguwa stated that no one should be viewed as above the law and that the incident should be looked into.
When the incident occurred, it was reported that the area council’s local government chairman had gone to oversee the demolition of buildings. “What we have is a savage assault on our people and our party offices, orchestrated and sustained by the Chairman,” Doguwa stated.
Alhaji Suyudi Umar, the local APC chairman, is among the most vilified in Tudun Wada Local Government. Under the pretense of the ruling NNPP, they are constantly looking to cause trouble,” he said.
The lawmaker recalled the confrontation he had with the state’s ruling NNPP during the most recent general election, when they accused him of murder.
“Not until I am cleared by courts of competent jurisdictions at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and Kano, respectively,” he continued.
“In the end, the two rulings upheld the ruling and ordered the governor and Kano state government to pay N25 million in costs.”
Abdullahi Kiyawa, the State Police Public Relations Officer, or PPRO, stated that the police have started looking into the situation.
“The ALGON chairperson is the subject of a formal complaint,” he stated.
“The suspect and every witness have been invited.
“The ALGON chairperson’s orderly has also been called back to the command to explain the situation.”
