The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has revealed that Blessing Solomon, a long-distance runner from Nigeria, has been banned from athletics for three years after testing positive for a prohibited substance at the Abuja Premium Trust Half Marathon. After Trimetazidine was found in a urine sample taken during the race on December 6, 2025, the AIU declared in a verdict from its Monaco headquarters that the 28-year-old had violated the Anti-Doping Rule.The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-accredited laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland, examined the sample (coded 1701980) and reported an Adverse Analytical Finding on January 20.
