EPL: Following Man City’s victory over Burnley, Ian Wright makes an unexpected title prediction

Despite falling to second place, former England striker Ian Wright is rooting for Arsenal to win the Premier League.

Even if it means “creeping over the line,” Wright thinks the Gunners will have enough to win the championship.

After Manchester City defeated Burnley 1-0 on Wednesday, Mikel Arteta’s team will be behind going into this weekend.

However, the two teams are equal on points and goal differential, with City leading only on goals scored.

When asked about his title prediction on Stick to Football, Wright said, “I’m going to go with: we’re going to win the league.”

“I believe we may produce the same opportunities against the upcoming teams as we did against that City team. Obviously we’re going to have to be a lot more ruthless with taking our chances.

However, given our past performance at this point in the season, I didn’t think we were producing enough opportunities in the games before that.

We generated enough opportunities in that crucial Man City game, in my opinion, so if we do that against other teams, we can regain the defensive stability we had prior to this phase of the season and end this with ruthlessness.

People were saying, “Oh, it’s Arsenal’s, it’s Arsenal’s to lose,” at the beginning of the season because we appeared to be flawless.

“I thought we did enough in this City game, but now everyone is faltering.” We can probably succeed if we can play like that, even if we’re trying to sneak over the line.
