Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has stated that if they lose against Arsenal this weekend, the race for the Premier League title will be over.
On Sunday, City will host the Gunners in a top-of-the-table match.
Despite City’s advantage, the league leaders are six points ahead of Guardiola’s team.
Arsenal’s victory would widen the deficit, and the previous champions might close the gap to three points.
“It’s over if we lose. We still have games to play, though, given the other two outcomes and the fact that Arsenal lost to Bournemouth, Guardiola stated.
In the rematch at the Emirates, City was held to a 1-1 tie.
However, they started to gain momentum ahead of the final stretch and defeated Arsenal 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final last month.
