According to PUNCH Sports Extra, teenage Nigerian sprinter Miracle Ezechukwu is aiming to create a new personal best in addition to capturing the 100-meter and 4×100-meter relay medals at the 24th African Athletics Championships in Accra.
One of the youngest competitors from Nigeria in the Ghanaian championship, Ezechukwu, stated that her goal was to set a new personal record and win the 100-meter gold with style.
The recent high school graduate clarified that she is committed to giving excellent performances in all of her events and is totally focused on supporting Team Nigeria’s medal chances.
Ezechukwu stated to FIRST ZEALMEDIACAST, “My main goal in Ghana is to clinch the 100m title and the 4×100m.”
Nigeria can count on my dedication to the team and my best efforts. Although I would want to set a new personal best in Ghana, I will accept any opportunity that presents itself. Ezechukwu, who participated in the World Relays in Botswana as a member of Nigeria’s women’s 4x100m relay team, stated, “I think we are ready to go, and the spirit in the team is high.” She said that the experience she received from that tournament has improved her perspective going into the continental championships.
She acknowledged that her prior experience taught her important lessons, including a challenging relay moment where an early mistake impacted the team’s rhythm. However, she claimed to have improved her discipline and poise as a result of the event.
“Just being disciplined, training hard, trusting my coach, and believing in God is the secret, and the result will show,” she continued.
The youngster is a member of a 41-person Nigerian squad that will compete in the championships, which start today at the University of Ghana, Legon, with 24 female and 17 male competitors.
Nigeria is anticipated to participate in a number of track and field competitions in an effort to outperform the top athletes in the continent.
