Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, strongly criticized former Canadian lawmaker Goldie Ghamari for claiming there is large-scale persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
In a post on his X handle, Fani-Kayode argued that Ghamari is unfit to discuss Nigerian and world affairs because she was expelled from Canadian politics as a Member of Parliament (MP). The former minister labeled Ghamari a vicious extremist and religious bigot who intentionally creates fear and division.
This reaction follows a clash on Tuesday between Ghamari and Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, over the allegations of widespread Christian persecution. Ghamari had cited the Muslim identities of President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima as “evidence” of an enabling Islamist government.
Reacting to this, Fani-Kayode expressed astonishment that Ghamari, who was removed from the Conservative caucus for Islamophobic remarks and whose law license was reportedly revoked for professional misconduct and corruption against a client, was given a platform to air her “ignorance and perverse views” about Nigeria.
He described her as a “war-mongering political harlot” funded by Zionists, claiming her views on both Iran and Nigeria are driven by hate, ignorance, malevolence, and malice. Fani-Kayode concluded by stating he was pleased that Minister Tuggar successfully refuted and “excoriated her before the entire world.”
