Renowned Afrobeat icon Davido has joined the ranks of thousands of internet users in demanding the release of VeryDarkMan from confinement.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested VeryDarkMan, a well-known social media critic, on Friday for reasons that have not been made public.
Prior to his arrest, VeryDarkMan had proclaimed that he would visit one of the GTBank branches in Abuja to raise a complaint regarding a supposed deduction from his mother’s account.
At the time this report was filed, it was still unclear whether VeryDarkMan was arrested inside GTBank or outside its premises.
His arrest has sparked a variety of responses online, with netizens and celebrities alike demanding his release.
Following the development, Davido posted on X, calling for VeryDarkMan to be released.
Davido wrote, acknowledging the public support for VeryDarkMan; “Amidst all the noise, it’s refreshing to realize that one’s good deeds truly affect lives and are genuinely appreciated! The widespread support for VDM that I’m witnessing is heartening; it inspires one to contribute more for the general public. LET MY GUY GO.
