Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, has promised to support President Bola Tinubu in the general elections of 2027.
Speaking to reporters on Monday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Birnin Kebbi, the governor made the announcement.
He clarified that the meeting’s main objectives were to boost the party’s standing in front of next elections.
“This is a stakeholders’ meeting; we have met and discussed issues that directly affect our party,” Idris stated, adding that the state commissioner for information would be responsible for communicating the resolutions’ specifics.
He declared that the All Progressives Congress, which is currently in power, is still deeply ingrained in Kebbi State.
He claims that the people of the state still back the APC and are dedicated to making sure it succeeds both locally and nationally.
Prominent political heavyweights attended the conference, including Yusuf Tanko-Sununu, the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, and Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, according to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria.
Among other stakeholders, Senators Yahaya Abdullahi and Adamu Aliero were also present.
