According to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Abia State branch, no wards, local government, or state congresses are planned for April 7–14, 2026.
In a communication to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party members, wards, local government, state executive, and the general public, the Abia ADC disclosed this information.
INEC removed the David Mark-led National Working Committee from its website after the Appeal Court upheld the status quo ante bellum, according to a statement signed by Mr. Don Norman Obinna, Chairman of the Abia ADC.
Obinna added that INEC has directed ADC State officers not to supervise the purported ADC State Congresses and National Convention in compliance with the Court’s decision.
He stated that the Abia State Ward, LGA, and State Executive are still in office.
As a result, party members, leaders, and stakeholders are asked to maintain composure, remain upbeat, and spread the positive message of ADC while abstaining from actions that can disrupt local peace.
The chairman of the Abia ADC stated, “Rest assured, efforts are ongoing to revitalize the party and restore normalcy.”
He pledged to keep his party members informed of any further developments.
