Afrobeats singer, Ayra Starr, has shared that she doesn’t wish for her mother to listen to the second verse of her new collaboration with Wizkid, ‘Gimme Dat,’ where she commanded a man to let her “survey” his private parts.
In her second verse of the song, which sampled Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige’s 2000 hit ‘911,’ Starr shared that a lot of men watch her for the wrong reasons, but she knows how to flip that gaze into power.
„So viele Leute wollen meinen Eintopf probieren, also Baby, entspann dich und lass mich dein Werkzeug begutachten… und wenn ich dein 2 x 2 anfasse, wirst du schreien und die Fassung verlieren“, singt sie.
The listeners immediately took notice of the verse. Although her artistry received praise from many, others critiqued her verse delivery as “too raw.”
On Saturday, Ayra Starr herself posted on her X account that he doesn’t want her mother to hear the controversial verse.
She penned, “Hopefully my mom never hears my second verse.”
