Ighalo identifies a player who should lead the Super Eagles in the 2025 SPORTAFCON.

Prior to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has endorsed Victor Osimhen as the team’s captain. Remember that Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong just declared his retirement from international football? However, it has been generally predicted that midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will replace Troost-Ekong as captain. However, Ighalo thinks Osimhen is the best player to lead the Super Eagles because Eric Chelle’s team will pay attention to him.
