The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two of its officers for unprofessional conduct. The arrests followed a report about unacceptable behavior by some personnel deployed to a checkpoint attached to the Jimeta Divisional Police Headquarters, who were on duty along River Side, Jimeta. Preliminary findings indicated that the officers stopped a Mercedes 180 for a routine search, but the occupants resisted. During the encounter, one officer allegedly behaved in a manner “prejudicial to discipline” by firing shots at the vehicle’s tires, which the Command deemed unnecessary and unprofessional, though no injuries were reported. The arrested officers are in custody, and Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. The Command assured the public that appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken once the investigation is complete.
