In Rivers, soldiers find 3,250 liters of allegedly illicit petroleum products.

During an anti-illegal bunkering operation in River State’s Eleme Local Government Area, troops from Joint Task Force South-South, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), discovered 3,250 liters of suspected illicitly refined petroleum products.

Zagazola Makama, a security and counter-insurgency specialist in the Lake Chad region, revealed this in a post on X. state.

According to Makama, who cited security sources, LCSF MST 1/2 soldiers made the discovery on April 20 at Eleme’s Refinery Road.

The materials, which are thought to be illicitly refined petroleum products connected to bunkering operations, were discovered at the site during routine patrol operations, according to the report.

The sources claim that the recovered goods were handled in accordance with OPDS’s operational guidelines.

They stated that in order to prevent economic sabotage and safeguard vital national assets, continuous anti-illegal bunkering operations were being stepped up throughout the Niger Delta region.
