Troops from the 8 Division Garrison of the Nigerian Army recently killed five bandits and seized various weapons, motorcycles, and communication radios during a series of offensive operations across Sokoto and Zamfara states. Starting on Wednesday, the military targeted several criminal hideouts in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto, successfully dismantling bandit networks and forcing many insurgents to flee. The operation continued into the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara, where soldiers engaged in a heavy firefight that resulted in the reported casualties and recoveries. This success follows the recent elimination of prominent bandit leaders in the region and has earned commendations from state officials and local residents for the army’s ongoing efforts to restore security.
