The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed that gunmen killed two individuals and abducted six others in Pindiga town, located in the Akko Local Government Area. The attack took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Police spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi stated that the armed group initially entered a residence on the Pindiga–Kashere Road, fatally shooting 31-year-old Yusuf Mohammed and 28-year-old Faiza Mohammed before kidnapping 16-year-old Zainab Mohammed Yusuf. The shooting victims were taken to the Cottage Hospital in Pindiga but were pronounced dead by doctors. The gunmen then moved to the nearby home of Alhaji Yayaji Abdullahi, where they abducted his 35-year-old wife, Summai Yayaji, and two children, aged 11 and 14. Authorities recovered six empty AK-47 shells and one live round at the scene. In response, the police have increased security operations and are working alongside hunters and local vigilante groups to rescue the victims and apprehend the attackers.
