Allegations that former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso purchased 69 nomination forms in order to seize control of the party prior to the 2027 elections have been denied by the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
Remember that Abdulkadir Musa Giza, claiming to be the chairman of the PRP’s North-West Stakeholders Forum, asserted that Kwankwaso had taken control of the party hierarchy?
Speaking to reporters on Monday, PRP secretary Alhaji Musa Maigari refuted the accusation, stating that Kwankwaso has no official affiliation with the party and did not purchase nomination forms.
As of right now, every PRP position has been filled. Every political party has finished its primaries, and the primary elections are over,” she declared.
“The man who raised these allegations is not even our member,” Maigari said, casting doubt on the veracity of the source of the accusation. It is absurd that someone is discussing primaries or nomination forms now that the primaries are over.
He emphasised that there is no documentation demonstrating that Kwankwaso or any of his representatives purchased nomination forms from the party and added that the PRP does not recognise the purported North-West Stakeholders Forum.
He claims that the allegation’s timing is suspicious because the party has already finished its primary elections for the upcoming election cycle.
He advised the public to only rely on information made public by the party’s official channels and to disregard what he called unfounded rumours.
