Mike Jackson will take over as Burnley’s temporary manager.

Following head coach Scott Parker’s departure, Burnley Football Club has announced that Mike Jackson will assume temporary leadership of the team.

Following Burnley’s Premier League relegation, the club confirmed that Parker resigned his position by mutual agreement. Following talks with the board, both sides decided to part ways.

Jackson will now temporarily take over as the team attempts to end the season on a high note, according to a statement posted on its official website on Thursday.

“With the help of the current backroom staff, Mike Jackson will assume interim leadership for the Clarets’ remaining four Premier League games, starting with Friday’s away game against Leeds United,” the team announced.

Additionally, Burnley stated that they are already in the process of selecting a new permanent head coach in advance of the 2026–2027 campaign.

Parker leaves the organization with respect, the club said, expressing gratitude for his service.

“The Club would like to formally thank Scott for his professionalism, commitment, and contribution. He departs with the appreciation and esteem of all those associated with Burnley Football Club.

Parker, meantime, has thanked the team, players, and fans after leaving Turf Moor.Parker called his stay at the club a privilege in a parting statement after leaving by mutual consent.

“Leading this fantastic club for the past two years has been an enormous honor. I’ve loved every second of our adventure together, but I think it’s time for both of us to go in a different path,” he remarked.

The former manager thought back on his accomplishments, especially Burnley’s 2024–2025 Premier League promotion.

“It was a true honor to lead this team into the Premier League, and I look back with great pride on what we accomplished during my time at the club, especially our unforgettable promotion season in 2024/25,” Parker continued.

He also thanked the club’s workers and leadership for their support.

“I want to express my gratitude to Alan and the ownership group for their support throughout my tenure at the club. I also want to express my gratitude to the amazing and hardworking team behind the scenes and, above all, to the players, who have given me everything since the day I arrived,” he stated.

Parker expressed his gratitude to the supporters and wished the team continued success.

Lastly, I would want to thank the Burnley supporters. I hope the future holds nothing but the best for you all and this wonderful club.
