As we celebrate the birthday of the Chairman and CEO of Metropolitan Broadcasting Services (MBS), Deacon Owolabi Oladejo, staff and well-wishers have continued to highlight his impact, leadership, and quiet commitment to growth.
MBS, owners of Impact Business Radio and Impact Africa Television, has continued to rise in relevance and quality under his guidance.
Kenny Bamidele, Head of Sports and Production at MBS, has praised the Chairman for his remarkable leadership and the great work he continues to do.
He recalled that the station recently celebrated 10 years on air, a milestone marked by the unveiling of a fully rebranded studio equipped with ultra-modern facilities.
According to Kenny, this is one of many examples of the Chairman’s forward-thinking vision. “That rebrand shows the kind of future he sees for us,” he said.
Kenny noted that Deacon Oladejo’s influence goes beyond technology and infrastructure. Over the years, the CEO has helped develop some of the best radio and television presenters who are now thriving nationally and internationally.
“His investment in people is why our brand keeps shining everywhere,” Kenny added.
He went on to describe the Chairman as a silent achiever who prefers to work without noise. “He has played a big role in who I am today,” Kenny said. “My story wouldn’t be complete without him.”
Kenny also shared a recent encounter that reflected the Chairman’s reputation beyond the walls of MBS. “I had a chat with someone who spoke very highly of him,” he said. “They told me my Chairman is different from many media owners.”
He concluded by calling today a day to honour a leader whose humility sets him apart.
“He does a whole lot, but he doesn’t talk about it — a quality that is rare in the world today, where clout chasing is a norm.”
