Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, has praised workers across the state for their contributions to development, stating that their sacrifices are critical to the future of Kano and Nigeria.
On behalf of the officers and men of the Kano State Police Command, the police commissioner thanked workers on 2026 Workers’ Day in a goodwill message issued on Friday.
“On behalf of the officers and men of the Kano State Police Command, I extend warm felicitations to all workers in Kano State as we join the rest of the world to commemorate Workers’ Day 2026,” he declared.
He complimented workers in both the public and commercial sectors, referring to them as the foundation of growth.
“Today, we celebrate the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers to the socio-economic growth, peace, and development of our dear state and nation,” he said.
Bakori also praised security officers, teachers, health workers, public servants, journalists, traders, farmers, craftsmen, and transportation workers.
He emphasized that their work under challenging situations had helped to keep the state stable.
“Your sacrifices, often under challenging conditions, have kept Kano moving forward,” he stated.
He assured people that the police will continue to prioritize safety and security in accordance with Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s orders, including intelligence-led policing and community partnerships.
Bakori also advised workers and citizens to be calm and law-abiding, warning against violence and criminal behavior.
“As we commemorate this day, I urge all workers and residents to stay lawful, peaceful, and cautious. Avoid violence, thuggery, and other types of wrongdoing. The Command will not give up in its fight against crime, and we rely on your ongoing help through timely and credible intelligence. “Let us use Workers’ Day to renew our commitment to hard work, unity, and patriotism for a safer, more prosperous Kano State,” he said.
