Nigeria has been given “vacation” due to INEC’s “technical glitches.” Dalung, the president

Solomon Dalung, the former minister of sports, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking a work vacation in Europe.

Dalung called Tinubu a “vacation president,” the result of “technical glitches” by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.

According to BASEMEDIA, Tinubu left Abuja on September 4 to start a 10-day working vacation in Europe as part of his 2025 annual leave, as announced by the Presidency.

Tinubu will spend the time between France and the UK before going back to Nigeria, according to a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Dalung claimed in a post on X on Thursday that the country now has a leader who values leisure while Nigerians deal with increasing insecurity as a result of the 2023 elections.

This is the sad result of INEC’s alleged technical errors, a plot that has resulted in a vacation president whose notion of a social contract with Nigerians is nothing more than entitlement.Tinubu decides to relax in Europe while the country floats during a period of growing insecurity. Nigeria is navigating turbulence on autopilot with pilots who are asleep and have no idea what they’re doing. Have pity on this nation, Lord,” he wrote.
