With the introduction of the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) by the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Nigeria has made great progress toward maritime digitization. Dr. Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, and Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, attended the inauguration event in Abuja. The ECMS is a digital platform created to improve the Nigerian Shippers’ Council’s operational efficiency and transparency. The council will be able to automate procedures, cut down on paperwork, and respond to stakeholders more quickly thanks to the system. In his speech, the SGF praised the Minister for his work in securing Nigeria’s recent election to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council’s Category C, characterizing the accomplishment as confirmation of the nation’s improving stature in the international maritime arena.
