National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu stated that President Bola Tinubu is impressed with Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s governance in Rivers State, labeling the state as one of the nation’s most peaceful. Leading a high-level presidential delegation to Port Harcourt, Ribadu explained that the visit aimed to bolster peace initiatives in Ogoniland, which he described as a transformative new chapter for Nigeria. The President extended specific gratitude to the Governor for facilitating discussions regarding the resumption of oil exploration in the Ogoni region. Ribadu also thanked the local population for their patience and praised the state for providing facilities for the University of Environment and the NSA’s zonal office. Minister of Works David Umahi added that the peace process is vital for national unity and affirmed the President’s commitment to the Niger Delta’s welfare. Umahi detailed several major infrastructure projects, including the completion of the East-West Road with five flyovers and the dualization of the Bonny-Bodo Road. Furthermore, he revealed that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is being redesigned to traverse Ogoniland as part of the federal government’s developmental agenda.
