Nigeria Wins the ITTF-Africa Para Tournament in 2025

Nigeria’s outstanding success at the recently ended 2025 ITTF-Africa Para Championships in Giza, Egypt, solidified her dominance in African para-table tennis. With six gold medals, the Nigerian team led the medal standings and earned a spot in the 2026 World Championships. Nigeria just missed Egypt, the host country, which won five gold. Top athletes from all around Africa, including Algeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, and Nigeria, competed in the championships, which also served as a qualifying event for the 2026 World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. Ogunkunle Isau, a bronze medallist in the 2024 Paralympics who won gold in the Men’s Singles Classes 4–5, led the charge for Nigeria. With wins in their individual singles competitions, Adesope Abiola Wali, Farinloye Victor, and Lawal Kehinde all added to Nigeria’s remarkable medal total.
