Nigerians are worried about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s delay in presenting the 2026 Appropriations Bill to the National Assembly, according to Daily Trust. Additionally, there are concerns that by the time the 2026 budget is published, Nigeria may have to run four budgets simultaneously, including the 2024 Appropriations Act, 2024 Supplementary Budget, and 2025 budget.Recall that under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, Nigeria went back to the January–December budget cycle. However, this is no longer the case because Nigeria today manages three separate budgets at the same time, a development that stakeholders regard as unprecedented in the country’s recent financial history.
