Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has said that many Nigerians, including himself, are finding it very hard to see former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai together.
Yesufu, however, stated that politics is all about dealing with the good, bad, and ugly.
Obi and El-Rufai recently attended a function together in Owerri, Imo State.
“For many people, including myself, seeing Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai together is a very hard one. For those who are supporting Peter Obi and seeing all the things El-Rufai did as governor of Kaduna State, his utterances and actions; anytime I see El-Rufai I’m thinking about Dadiyata,” Yesufu stated in a video on X.
“Despite having met, we didn’t talk at the ADC unveiling. This is my attempt to prove that politics is not a romantic pursuit.
Does that imply that this person and I must be working in the same room? Politics, however, is not a romantic relationship, as I mentioned.
So, I want to say to everyone: yes, seeing El-Rufai with Peter Obi makes many of us feel horrible, angry, and hurt, but let’s remember that in politics, you have to deal with the good, the bad, and the ugly.
