The Federal High Court in Abuja has approved the use of the Department of State Services (DSS) medical facility for Nnamdi Kanu’s medical treatment. The court also instructed the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to close his defense by October 30. One of Kanu’s lawyers, Aloy Ejimakor, stated on X that the judge determined the DSS medical facility is sufficient for his care. The court has postponed Kanu’s trial to October 23, 2025, to begin his defense. Ejimakor noted that the case has been adjourned for the start of Kanu’s defense, and the judge confirmed that the DSS facility is adequate for his medical needs, with Kanu given until October 30 to finalize his defense. According to the BASEMEDIA , Kanu is currently being tried for an alleged terrorism charge brought by the federal government.
