According to the DAILY POST, Enyimba technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch has responded to his team’s loss to Rangers in the oriental derby.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s team defeated the People’s Elephant 2-1 on Sunday night at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Wonah Williams gave Enyimba the lead in the 44th minute.
Rangers scored the most points in the second half thanks to goals from Chidozie Iwundu and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi.
Deutsch asserted that his team’s defeat in the derby wasn’t detrimental.
“It’s not that horrible to lose a derby game away. We scored the first goal, then they equalized and scored the second, so it wasn’t a terrible game. The Cameroonian was cited by the NPFL media as saying, “They needed the victory the way we needed.”
After the victory, Rangers took back the top spot on the table, while Enyimba fell to 13th place.
