Enyimba head coach, Stanley Eguma has hailed his team’s “tough” Oriental derby win against holders Rangers.
The nine-time champions recorded a 2-1 away win against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.
Eguma’s side dominated the first half, and scored two goals through Innocent Gabriel and Ekenne Awazie
In the 66th minute, Chiedozie Okorie cut Rangers’ deficit.
The manager stated that the derby was a game of two halves.
“This is the most significant Oriental Derby match. It became a game of two halves. „Wir haben die erste Halbzeit dominiert und zweimal getroffen“, sagte Eguma nach der Partie.
“Rangers were in control during the second half and scored a goal. I have respect for them. They are a good team, but today we came and won.
With the victory, Enyimba ascended to fifth place, accumulating 52 points from 35 matches.
