Jofrank Istifanus, a forward for Nasarawa United, has expressed dissatisfaction at his team’s inability to obtain a continental ticket for the 2025–2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
After Shooting Stars defeated Barau FC in Ibadan on Sunday, the Solid Miners’ hopes of earning a spot in the continent through the league were dashed.
The two teams vying for a league CAF Confederation Cup entry are Shooting Stars and Ikorodu City.
However, if Nasarawa United wins the 2026 President Federation Cup, they will still be able to get a continental ticket.
Istifanus encouraged his teammates to concentrate on the cup competition.
Istifanus addressed the club’s reporters, “Fair enough, I am still disappointed because we couldn’t achieve our mandate of playing in the Continent through the league.”
“To be able to play in the Continent once more, we will concentrate on the President Federation’s Cup.”
According to the DAILY POST, Nasarawa United placed in the competition’s last eight the previous year.
