Ojukwu refutes joining ADC, saying, “I’m loyal to LP.”

Clement Ojukwu, the Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, has dismissed rumors of his defection to the African Democratic Congress as “fake news,” reaffirming his steadfast loyalty to the LP. In a personally signed statement, Ojukwu characterized the reports as entirely false and stated that it would be illogical to abandon a party he invested significant resources and energy into building. While acknowledging that some associates, such as Peter Obi, have moved to the ADC, Ojukwu emphasized that the majority of the party remains committed to the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure. He expressed strong confidence in the party’s future, noting that the LP is focused on social democracy and aims to replicate its 2023 successes in the 2027 elections. He concluded by calling for unity and calm among party members, promising that the party will emerge from its current challenges even stronger.
