Ovie Omo-Agege, the former deputy president of the Senate, has denied that he was defeated in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial primary for Delta Central.
Omo-Agege mocked claims that he was defeated during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, claiming there was no disagreement over the primary election’s result.
“I have a piece of land in the middle of the Atlantic to sell you if you think I lost a primary in NDC,” he declared.
The former lawmaker declared that he had won the primary in each of the senatorial district’s eight local government districts and expressed confidence that the party would formally confirm the outcome.
“As in all eight local government areas, I won the NDC primary. I don’t believe anyone is currently disputing that. He declared, “You can take it to the bank that I have won that primary, 100 percent.”
Omo-Agege revealed that despite having the results, he and his supporters had not made them public due to orders from the party leadership.
He claimed that the NDC had told candidates to wait for the party’s official results announcement.
He also disclosed that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party would convene on Wednesday to approve the primary results.
There is an NDC NEC meeting today. By the way, I’ve only been in the party for five or six days, and I’ve already been informed that I’m a member of the NEC. We will be approving those findings at today’s NEC meeting,” he stated.
“I can tell you that there is absolutely no disagreement over who won the Delta Central senatorial primary, at the risk of providing you with insider information. I prevailed.
He continued, “I am the candidate, but I would prefer to wait for the party to formally make that announcement.”
