Ovie Omo-Agege, a former deputy president of the Senate, announced on Wednesday which presidential candidate he will back in 2027.
Omo-Agege revealed that he would back Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, he claimed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s supporters are spreading untrue rumours about him because they are afraid of him.
Omo-Agege emphasised that he is a devoted party man and claimed that the governor’s supporters are worried about what he would do in the 2027 election.
He recalled how, as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he had backed President Bola Tinubu, and he would do the same as an NDC member.
Omo-Agege states: “I have endorsed Peter Obi as my presidential candidate for 2027. I’m a political animal, and while I was in the APC, I gave it my all. Now that I’m in the NDC, you can be sure that my allegiance to the party is unwavering.
“I have a piece of land to sell you if you think I didn’t win the NDC primary. Sheriff’s e-rats are terrified of me and what I might do to them during the election.
