Following the purported reluctance or refusal of the Engineer Musa Kida-led board to begin the 2026 election process as required by the National Sports Commission (NSC), there are warning signs that another constitutional and leadership crisis will soon rock the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). In response to the Nigeria Olympics Committee’s (NOC) recommendation, the NSC publicly requested that the current NBBF board convene its elected congress in January 2026, when the board’s term is about to expire. However, based on the contentious 2022 election that put it in power, there are clear signs that the Kida-led board has different views.
