Olabisi Onabanjo University is now the ninth recipient of a N1.2 billion 10-year scholarship program offered by a banking institution called OPay.
A statement claims that the scholarship will provide N300,000 year to 20 students at the university to cover their tuition and other costs associated with their studies.This demonstrates OPay’s steadfast dedication to youth empowerment and education in Nigeria. By doing this, OPay is giving students the freedom to concentrate on their education, reach their full potential, and follow their aspirations without worrying about money,” the statement read.
Justin Zhan, the company’s chief public affairs officer, emphasized the value of educating and empowering Nigerian young during his remarks at the MOU signing ceremony. This year, Olabisi Onabanjo University is the ninth university with whom we have partnered to provide scholarships to 20 of the institution’s students annually. We are confident that this program would enable gifted children to concentrate on their studies,” he stated.
On behalf of the university, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ayodeji Agboola sent gratitude, stating that the scholarship will motivate the students to concentrate on their studies. With this scholarship initiative, some students will be able to continue their study without any hassles, as we have seen some students take gap years to come up with cash to continue their school.
