Osun 2026: INEC Removes PDP, LP, and 14 Other Political Parties

Fourteen political parties will run in Osun’s governorship election on August 8, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Mr. Musa Olurode, the INEC Public Relations Officer, made this announcement in Osogbo on Sunday.Olurode clarified that the election would only be held by the 14 political parties that successfully completed their primaries and uploaded the names and details of their candidates within the time frame set by the commission. “Accord (A), Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and All Progressives Congress (APC) are the political parties that legitimately uploaded the names and details of their candidates, according to the Commission’s Headquarters,” he said. Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Action Peoples Party (APP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and Boot Party (BP) are some of the other groups.
