Osun 2026: The Accord Party will nominate Adeleke for governor.

The Accord Party in Osun State is scheduled to officially announce Governor Ademola Adeleke as its candidate for the Osun 2026 governorship election. This declaration is set to happen today, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Osun State Accord Party governorship primary. The Osun State party chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, made this disclosure on Wednesday in Osogbo, also revealing that Governor Adeleke is the sole candidate for the party. Pastor Akande stated that approximately 150 delegates would participate in the primary election. He confirmed, “Governor Ademola Adeleke is our sole candidate for the 2026 governorship election. We are declaring him today. As you know, he formally defected to our party in November and we publicly announced him on Tuesday.” Akande further specified that the delegates consist of five individuals drawn from each of the 30 local government areas of the state. It was previously reported by DAILY POST that Governor Adeleke had announced the Accord Party as his new political platform, simultaneously confirming his intention to seek re-election in 2026. Governor Adeleke made this declaration at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo on Tuesday, in the presence of both national and state party leaders. Adeleke stated that he formally joined the Accord Party on November 6, 2025, following several weeks of consultation and discussion with stakeholders and opinion leaders.
