The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State chapter, has declared a temporary suspension of its strike to permit Judicial Service Commission (JSC) staff to attend an arranged meeting with commission officials.
The temporary halt will be in effect from December 11 to 24, 2025, pending endorsement from the JUSUN Congress and its national body, according to a statement released on Wednesday and signed by Chairman Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran.
The statement indicated that the meeting is scheduled for December 11 at the High Court of Justice Conference Room in Osogbo, where the focus will be on JUSUN’s demands concerning staff promotion and welfare.
The union confirmed that Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Bola Ojo, has agreed to restart discussions with the JSC to tackle the concerns that have been brought forward. JUSUN recognized the JSC as the body overseeing justice administration in the state and anticipates that it will review and address the demands of judiciary workers.
The union expressed appreciation for the Chief Judge’s commitment to engage with the JSC on their behalf, stating they anticipate a favorable resolution. JUSUN reaffirmed that its demands are legitimate, reasonable, and long overdue, emphasizing that its members will persist until these issues are resolved.
The Osun JUSUN Chairman also thanked union members for their steady support, trust, and loyalty during the industrial action. Osun JUSUN initiated the strike on September 22, 2025, following a disagreement with the Osun State Chief Judge.
