Oyibode, the head of the Delta Council, announces a curfew in Oghior from dusk to dawn.

Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, the Chairman of the Udu Local Government Council, has instituted an immediate dusk-to-dawn curfew for the Oghior Community, running from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This order was issued in response to a continuous escalation of crises within the community, which has resulted in the destruction of property and the burning down of several houses. The directive establishing the curfew was formally announced in a statement released by Comrade Henry Ubus, the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman. Oyibode instructed all security agencies operating within the local government area to use lethal force against any person or group found in possession of illegal weapons or attempting to provoke a further breakdown of law and order. He explained that this action was essential to prevent the crisis from worsening, to re-establish peace, and to protect the lives and belongings of innocent citizens. The Chairman affirmed that the fundamental duty of government is the protection of lives and property, stressing that his administration would not permit criminals to plunge Oghior or any other section of Udu into chaos. He additionally urged the residents of Oghior Community to maintain calm, adhere strictly to the curfew directives, and fully assist the security personnel deployed to the location. Finally, he gave assurances that the Udu Local Government Council, working alongside relevant security organizations, will continuously supervise the situation until complete peace and normalcy are restored.
