Fire destroyed properties valued at millions of naira in two residential buildings in Oyo State.
The incidents occurred on Wednesday night in Ibadan and Kishi town.
The first incident happened at 17 Prestige Estate, Joop Bad hour Crescent, Onírẹlẹ in Ibadan. The fire engulfed the living room of a four-bedroom duplex. Properties worth millions were affected, but no lives were lost.
The second fire occurred at 1, Alhaji Rosco Street, Ajangba Area in Kishi town, also on Wednesday night. The generator room of a residential building was severely damaged, and properties worth millions were affected.
Oyo State Fire Service Chairman, Hon Maroof Akinwande, confirmed both incidents on Friday and noted that no life was lost in either.
Regarding the Ibadan fire, he said that the living room of a four-bedroom duplex was on fire. Officers quickly fought the blaze and stopped it from spreading, saving millions of naira worth of property. The cause is under investigation.
He also confirmed the Kishi fire, stating that the generator room of a four-bedroom flat was involved. Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the fire from spreading to the main building and extinguished it quickly.
