Oyo kidnapping: Teachers protest as students avoid Oriire LGA schools [PHOTOS]

Teachers in a few public schools in Oyo State’s Oriire Local Government Area have urged the government and security services to guarantee their coworkers’ and pupils’ freedom.

During a nonviolent demonstration early on Monday, the teachers made the demand.

According to information obtained by , on Friday, about 39 children and seven teachers were abducted in several areas within the local government region.

Our correspondent’s checks revealed that local schools were empty on Monday morning.

Early on Monday morning, educators in the local government region staged protests in the streets to call for the immediate release of both their colleagues and the abducted pupils.

Singing songs of solidarity while holding a variety of banners, the instructors urged the government and security services to immediately free the kidnapped individuals.

“In my school, only two students came and one or two teachers as at the time I left,” remarked a teacher at one of the schools.

“We were afraid of what might happen, so we stayed at the school gate and couldn’t even enter the school grounds.
