PDP crisis: Wike says Damagum is now against me after assisting him.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, of betrayal.

Speaking on *Politics Today* on Channels Television Thursday, Wike said he was the reason Damagum retained his position as PDP chairman, stressing that he did everything possible to support him, including engaging his lawyers.

“I did everything, I had his lawyers, and that’s what sustained Damagum to be there,” Wike stated. “But who is Damagum’s enemy now? It is me. If there’s one person Damagum would want dead, it is me.”

Wike claimed that despite his support, Damagum now sees him as an adversary.

Meanwhile, former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, recently urged the Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC) to expel Wike, along with former Benue governor Samuel Ortom, former Abia governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and others, accusing them of openly working against the PDP in favor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
