The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the rescue of five abducted individuals who were taken by suspected cultists.
The victims, identified as Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious, and London Sampson, were rescued on Thursday morning.
The rescue operation was carried out by the Command’s Tactical Teams, supported by other security agencies and the local community, in the Rumudogo 2 Community in the Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the victims have been taken to the hospital for medical examination. Intensive efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing cultists and abductors. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, warned that all those responsible will be arrested and face the full wrath of the law, while urging continued collaboration with the community and assuring residents of their safety.
