Hundreds of party stakeholders, including Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and former APC National Chairman Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, paid N50 million to the purchase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid forms.
The party’s Kano stakeholders unanimously accepted President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, and donated N50 million to purchase his expression of interest and nomination forms.
The decision was made during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting at Kano Government House’s Coronation Hall, where party leaders reaffirmed their support to the President’s leadership continuity.
Mustapha Muhammad, Kano State Governor’s Chief news Secretary, released a news release with this information.
Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi submitted a resolution for President Tinubu’s adoption, which garnered universal approval from stakeholders at the conference.
Speaking during the session, Kano State APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa said that the state chapter had planned to buy the nomination papers entirely but decided instead to contribute financially to the President’s candidacy.”We have agreed to contribute N50 million towards the purchase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s expression of interest and nomination forms,” he stated.
The stakeholders stated that the endorsement indicates their trust in the President’s leadership and ongoing reforms, as well as their united will to see the party succeed in the 2027 general elections.
The summit also reaffirmed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the APC’s sole governorship candidate in Kano State, as part of attempts to improve party unity and cohesiveness.The Kano State Government praised the stakeholders for their unwavering support and urged all party members to work together to further the party’s collective interests and the state’s development.
