Reuben Abati, a seasoned journalist and former presidential adviser, claimed that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso moved to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) recently out of prudence, expressing concerns about the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In an interview with Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Monday, Abati suggested that the two MPs might have foreseen possible structural and legal issues inside the party.
He claims that the party’s future is uncertain due to the Federal High Court’s referral of its substantive concerns, which has led both Obi and Kwankwaso to support what he called a more stable political platform.Abati went on to say that there are still unanswered concerns regarding both candidates’ future political paths, including whether they will run on the same ticket and what kind of alliance they might form before the next elections. “Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso acted wisely out of fear because it is very clear that the ADC that they joined is not going to work, you could run into troubled matters,” he stated. They are unsure of the outcome because the substantive matter has been sent to the Federal High Court. As a result, they swiftly switched to a different platform. On Sunday, Kwankwaso formally became a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, or NDC.At the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Sunday night, hundreds of fans, key executives, and national leader Seriake Dickson formally welcomed the pair into the organization.
