Chille Igbawua, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claims that the party will not support former vice president Atiku Abubakar in the upcoming general elections.
During a live appearance on Channels Television’s “The Morning Brief” on Monday, Igbawua made this claim.
He was responding to the defection of Rabi’u Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
Obi and Kwankwaso formally joined the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday, according to the DAILY POST.”I am sufficiently an insider enough to know if discussions were held, who was deciding who was going to emerge,” Igbawua responded. And I’ve stated that the process will be open and transparent in order to determine who will emerge.
“We have amply refuted the claim that Atiku Abubakar uses the ADC as a special-purpose vehicle over the years.
“That is definitely not true. He has not been given preference over anyone who has joined ADC.
