Residents of the Yewa Division have praised the Ogun State Government for its focus on inclusive governance and developmental projects, stating that these initiatives effectively bring the government closer to the community.
This appreciation was voiced during the Town Hall Meeting held in Ilaro for preparing the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2026 Budget. Representatives from groups like the NURTW (Comrade Oguneko Oladipupo) and Dr. Adegbite Badmus lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration for its positive impact, specifically highlighting improvements in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and rural electrification.
Former Deputy Governor Alhaja Salmot Badru commended the Governor’s outstanding performance, noting that he has built upon and surpassed previous achievements, with visible development across the state. While praising the strides in education and empowerment, Dr. Badmus specifically requested more government support for women empowerment, healthcare, and education to further boost community well-being. The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle (represented by the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Olanite), expressed gratitude, noting that the Governor has fulfilled almost all the requests made during the previous Town Hall Meeting.
The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, stressed that citizen needs are a crucial pillar of the state’s development. He stated that the Town Hall Meeting was held to ensure inclusive engagement, transparency, and accountability, urging Yewa residents to provide input reflecting their local priorities for the 2026 Budget. The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development across all parts of the state.
The Governor highlighted several completed and ongoing projects in the Yewa Division, including: Road Infrastructure projects like the Oke-Erinja Road (Phase I) and Imasayi–Ayetoro Road (Phase II); Healthcare improvements such as the renovation of existing health centres and the establishment of new facilities, alongside the deployment of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and expansion of the Health Insurance Scheme; Education upgrades to technical colleges and the provision of digital learning tools; and Economic & Agricultural Support through the establishment of the Ogun Job Centre and the transformation of rural markets, such as Oja-Odan, into agro-logistics hubs.
