The traditional rulers in Abia State have publicly urged the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, to stop making statements that could create a conflict between Governor Alex Otti and President Bola Tinubu.
During a press conference on Wednesday, the monarchs, represented by their Chairman, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, called for an end to the ongoing public dispute between the “two sons” of the state. They stressed that all parties should avoid comments that might incite the public against Governor Otti or lead the state into crisis, which would jeopardize the current developmental progress.
Specifically, the traditional rulers dismissed the Deputy Speaker’s claims regarding the size of Abia’s monthly financial allocations and his assertion that Governor Otti has not achieved much despite receiving large funds, calling the statements unsubstantiated.
They collectively appealed to Kalu to exercise restraint. The monarchs concluded by passing a vote of confidence in Governor Otti, praising his commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure, healthcare, security, and education sectors.
