The recent attacks in Rim, Jol, Bachit, Fan, Nding, and portions of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area that resulted in the deaths of innocent people and the damage of property have been harshly denounced by the Riyom Youth Council (RYC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State.
Additionally, RYC denounced the mindless murders of defenseless civilians, calling the acts “barbaric, painful, inhuman, and unacceptable.”
They claim that it is a significant setback that could jeopardize the peaceful coexistence that the people have worked so hard to maintain over the years.
Speaking to reporters in Jos, the capital of the Plateau state, the group’s chairman, Pam Nuhu Daniel, and secretary, Patience Chaimang, stated their stance and urged the young people in Riyom LGA not to break the law or let adversaries of peace use them to incite more violence.
For peace, harmony, and stability, we must continue to uphold the law and cooperate. We also urge security agencies to step up their efforts to apprehend those responsible for these horrible crimes and make sure that justice is done,” it said.
Regarding the 2027 elections, they urged all political candidates and players to follow the zoning understanding already established by the local elders and prioritize the general welfare of the constituency over individual ambition.
