The deadlines for registering for the 2026 May/June In-School Certificate Examinations and the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) are May 31 and May 24, 2026, according to the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).
This was revealed in a statement provided to reporters on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, by Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, NABTEB, via Mr. Uchechukwu Olisah, Assistant Director (Media/Protocol) of the board.
Mohammed stated that registration for the tests is still open nationwide and that specific web portals have made the procedure easier.
According to him, the streamlining is intended to give candidates and schools a smooth and stress-free experience.
“In addition, schools are expected to obtain login details through the State Office, log into the School Portal, make payment, and complete registration through school.nabteb.gov.ng for the May/June (In-school) registration,” he said. “Schools are required to request slots through their respective State Offices, capture candidates using the NABTEB Biometric Software, and complete registration via the official portal at mayjune.nabteb.gov.ng.”
In a same vein, candidates wishing to register for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) must complete registration on the Common Entrance Portal, obtain Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) from State Offices, and complete the procedure via commonentrance.nabteb.gov.ng.Additionally, candidates can independently create accounts, log in, and finish the online NCEE registration process.
To help with bulk registration, schools can also get login credentials from the State Office.
“Payments and registration must be completed via student.nabteb.gov.ng,” he stated.
However, in order to prevent last-minute difficulties, the NABTEB Chief Executive Officer urged schools, parents, guardians, and potential candidates to make the most of the registration window and finish all required procedures before the deadlines.
Additionally, he advised applicants and school administrators to make sure that all registration requirements are properly followed and that candidates’ data is submitted accurately.
Mohammed further suggested that the public seek additional information and assistance by visiting the Board’s official registration portals or contacting the closest State Office.
He reaffirmed the Board’s dedication to using technology to enhance exam administration and service delivery across the country.
